The Snowiest Christmas Ever.

This year was the Snowiest Christmas EVER!
Last record for most snow on Christmas day was set in 1916 and was 5 inches.

We shattered that record this year with 9.2 inches of snow (just on Christmas Day.)

It snowed for 2-3 days straight. The wind made it worse - huge drifts everywhere.
Oh to be young again - I would have been in heaven to be able to spend my whole Christmas break building tunnels and forts in all those drifts and snow piles around town.

The whole state of North Dakota was pretty much shut down.
Solid red means closed. Dotted red means No Travel Advised. Purple means snow covered roads.

But, hey, We live in North Dakota - what else do you expect?!

Lists...

I recently got my wisdom teeth taken out - so I haven't been in the mood to really blog much lately. And than family emergencies also caused some delay. but here I am.

I am a big fan of lists. Whether its a grocery list, a list of new songs or a list of chores. I love them. I was recently talking with a friend about our weaknesses for certain things...so today I decided to make a list of my "weaknesses."

Buying books, One Tree Hill, Dallas Cowboys, Poems, Christmas, Dogs, Ice Cream
Online Shopping, Boys, Massages, Blogs, Bread sticks, Hot Cocoa, saying sorry
texting, Facebook, Picture Frames, smiles, People magazine, salads, Lyrics...

and oh the list could go on and on....

My Favorite Things....

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells And schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winter that melts into spring
These are a few of my favorite things

The Wonderful Thing About Christmas...

There's actually so many wonderful things about Christmas that I could just ramble on forever. But some of my favorites are drinking hot cocoa or hot cider from my Xmas mug - always makes it taste better.
And driving around (with Christmas music playing) and looking at Christmas lights. No matter how big or small the town is - I love it.

Get along

Why can't people just get along
What a world it would be
If we could all just have fun
'Cause it don't do nobody right
When it comes down to a fight hey
Why can't people just get along

Well now things don't always run
smooth in a honky tonk
And some nights somebody's gonna
rub somebody wrong
And in those isolated incidents
We all loose our common sense hey
Why can't people just get along

Why can't people just get along
What a world it would be
If we could all just have fun
'Cause it don't do nobody right
When it comes down to a fight hey
Why can't people just get along
