Day 16 - 3 Day Work Weeks

Day 16

I am thankful for 3 day work weeks.

I believe every week should only have 3 work days. I'd be more than willing to work 12 or more hours those 3 days. If I could have every Friday off - Life would be grand.

Day 15 - Love

Day 15

I am thankful for Love.

Although I have not found "my love" - I am still surrounded by love. My parents have been married 27 years. They are still so in love. I catch them holding hands while sitting in a restaurant - or snuggling on the couch when my dad thinks no one is watching.

My grandparents were married for 60 years before my grandpa passed away. They held hands everywhere they went. They showed everyone in our family how love is supposed to be.

I am blessed with the love of family and friends. I wouldn't change that for anything.

But I am still looking for my "great love."

Day 14 - Long weekends

Day 14

I am thankful for long weekends.

Even though this weekend is a long one for a sad reason (funeral) - I am still thankful I get that extra nights sleep at home. And trust me - after last night I am thankful I do not have to drive 1.5 hrs back to my apartment.

Day 13 - Victory

Day 13
I am thankful for victories.
There is nothing better than a Dallas Cowboys victory.
The End.

Day 12 - Home

Day 12

I am thankful for home.

Who isn't? I love home. There's just something about being here that makes me calm down, relax, smile and enjoy life. I miss it here. I miss seeing my parents everyday, talking to them and eating supper with them.

I am SOO anxious to get my own house and make it a home.

I especially miss Sunday mornings - I would always get up and go crawl into bed with my mom and snuggle and watch tv. She'd usually watch and I'd drift back to sleep. I miss picking on my dad and vice versa. I miss coming home and my dog greeting me at the door and cuddling in with me at night.

Nothing beats home. It's the best. I am so thankful I am as lucky as I am.

p.s. I watched Home Alone tonight. Classic. :)

Day 11 - Game Night with the Roomies

Day 11

I am thankful for a night in with my roomies - playing board games.

Oh my roommates - how I love them so. They are fun! Tonight we stayed up playing board games and giggling like we were little junior high girls again. Playing Dreamphone and Mad Gab. - It's a guaranteed fun night for all!

I recommend game night - for anyone and everyone!!

Day 10 - Tear-jerkers

Day 10

I am thankful for "tear-jerker" movies.

Last night was my weekly date night with my friend and her little boy. It's probably my favorite night of the week. We usually just sit around, and talk. Maybe make a trip to somewhere fun in town like the pumpkin patch. Last night we decided to get ice cream and watch a movie. We just happened to run to Target to get our ice cream and noticed My Sister's Keeper had been released that day. No matter how many times I watch that movie, it always makes me cry. Such a good good movie, and a great book as well.

Day 9 - Christmas Music

Day 9

I am thankful for Christmas music.

So what if it's not Thanksgiving yet. I don't care. I love Christmas music. I am what some may call a "Christmas freak." I love it all. I love singing to Christmas music in the car. I love the snow on the ground (in fact I wish we had some). I love driving around looking at Christmas lights, while listening to Christmas music and drinking cappuccinos.

I just bought a Taylor Swift Christmas CD.

And a Tony Romo Christmas Ornament.

It was a good day.

Day 8 - One Tree HIll

Day 8

I am thankful for One Tree Hill.

One Tree Hill is the only thing that makes Monday worthwhile. Even though two of the main characters - Lucas and Peyton are no longer on it - I still love it. It's still good. Every season - every episode. Every actress and actor. Love them all.

Taylor Swift's Musical Monologue

Maybe you've already watched it - maybe you didn't even know about it. But if you like Taylor Swift - I suggest you listen to her "Musical Monologue Song (la-la-la)" She did it on SNL a couple weeks ago. I have personally watched it about 6 times now. The whole episode I've watched 3 times. I love Taylor Swift - and her personality.

If you're interested in watching go to Hulu.com - or here is the direct link to her SNL episode:Taylor Swift SNL episode

Day 7 - Cell phones

Day 7

I am thankful for my cellphone.

They say a dog's a man's best friend - well my cell phone is mine. I always find myself texting a few select friends. I can talk to my friends all day long through texts. I can't go anywhere without it. It is always with me. I feel lost when I have forgotten it and I "freak out" when I have temporarily lost it.

Day 6 - Chapstick

Day 6

I am thankful for Chapstick.

I am pretty sure that my lips are always chapped. I have to have chapstick with me wherever I go. I have a tube that I take with me everyday in my pockets at work, one that stays in my car, one that stays in my purse, and one on my nightstand next to my bed. Every Christmas morning - there is usually about 10 tubes in my stocking.

Chapstick is my life-saver.

Day 5 - Movie Night

Day 5

I am thankful for movie nights.

Nothing beats a night at home. Cuddled up in your favorite (Dallas Cowboys) blanket. Enjoying some laughs, conversation, and a delicious bowl of popcorn.

Whether it's with friends, roommates, boyfriend/girlfriend, or parents - Movie night is always a good choice.

One of tonight's movie choices: The Ugly Truth.

Day 4 - Ice Cream

Day 4

I am thankful for Ice Cream.

I scream, You scream, We all scream for ICE CREAM!!!
Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Cake Batter, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Rockie Road, Pumpkin, Chunky Monkey, Cookies and Cream, Mint, Jamacian Me Crazy...oh the list goes on.

I love ice cream. I tend to eat pints at a time. I just can't stop once I start. It's so good. My roommate and I actually go to get ice cream every Monday night. Whether it's Dairy Queen, Cold Stone, Gelato D'Italia or just grabbing a quick McFlurry. It's one of our best tradition :)

Day 3 - Free Country

Day 3

I am thankful to live in a free country.

I am thankful to live in a "free country." Freedom of speech, religion, right to bear arms. I can vote and can walk down the street and not fear for my life. I feel safe when I go to bed and safe when I wake up. I am very thankful for the people that did what they needed do to so I can have these freedoms. Veterans and soldiers, I thank you!

Special thanks to Tyrel Gion, Killian Norton and Mike Tavis.

Day 2 - My Dog

Day 2

I am thankful for my dog.

Yes, my dog, Josie. A shihtzu. She's 9 and she's mine. Although I can't have her with me now cause my apt doesn't allow pets. But she lives at home with my parents - mainly my dad since mom works in a different town all week. She keeps my dad company. He'll never admit, but he loves her.

She is always excited to see me and cuddles with me all the time while I am home. I was 11 when I bought her. (wow long time ago) I bought her with my money that I had saved up - $200.

I love and miss my dog terribly.

17 days of Thanks! - Day 1

Day 1:

I am thankful for my family.

Two amazing parents who taught me to love unconditionally, and who supported me no matter what. Who blessed with me the best brother a girl could ask for. Overprotective, playful, and funny - a giant teddy bear. I love him.

Grandparents who showed me that love is real and it can be forever. Who never missed any event in my life - no matter how big or little it was. Who gave me the best family anyone could ask for - one that always makes sure we are together for every holiday.

I am thankful for my numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Even though there are some of you I haven't seen in years, you are still my family.

Quick trip home.

Living exactly 108.95 miles (according to mapquest.com) from home definitely has its advantages.

Quick trips home to pick up my friends little boy from his grandparents - means calling up my parents and taking them and my brother out to eat after they spent the morning deer hunting.

Than take an extra fifteen minutes to stop at the house and look at the family pictures I just received that we took a couple months ago. (courtesy of white t photography) Laughing, smiling and "ooo" and "aah"-ing over our favorites.

I get just the ride dose of family laughter and jokes to last me until I get to see them again.

my dad really smiled - rare sight captured in a photo

I know who it is, but I'm not telling...HA HA

Anyone recognize that?

I've been wanting to buy this for a long time, and the other day I was on Ebay, and just decided to go for it. Brings back so many memories and fun times. In fact, my roommate and I played 3 games of it tonight, and acted like we were 14 again fighting over the cutest boys.

Dreamphone
Definitely one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. You call the boys on the game, and they give you clues to find out which one likes you!! Anyone else play this growing up?!
